A family friendly roadshow event traveling across the borough during the summer holidays, working in partnership with Eureka! and Calderdale Council's Play Services.

The Tinker, Make, Create Roadshow brings together local makers, artists, engineers and crafters, for half day sessions in eight key Calderdale wards, where family activity is needed. Play Services are leading on identifying areas for a legacy strategy to target future youth engagement!

For this session at Eureka, you can expect plenty of engaging craft activities and creative play sessions:

• Story club and interactive art session by Adventure Arts Story Club
• Sculpture and model-making activities by Artventurers
• Lego printing workshops with Demi Davies
• Recycled material sculpture building with Frank Darnley
• Messy play activity with different biomes and materials from Lucy Fee
• African-inspired calico tote bag decorating with NECH
• Scavenging, workshops, and optional walkabout with Noisy Toys
• Recycled toy modelling activity with Toylab

The Victoria Theatre will also be hosting family shows during the holidays. See their website for details.

The Roadshow will culminate in a day-long festival at Eureka! bringing in mix of local talent and performers, providing guests of all ages the opportunity to engage in more than 30 different activities. These include using raw materials and tools to create unique machines, launching rockets and art exploration, plus numerous crafting and building options.

• 23 Aug - Beech Hill School, 12:00-16:00 with Play Services
• 29 Aug - Space @ Field Lane, 10:00-14:00 with Play Services and Cartwheel Club Elland
• 31 Aug - Eureka! Outdoor Area, 11:00-16:00 [Final day-long festival]
