Walk With Amal (AL Parade as part of it)
From Halifax Town Hall, Crossley Street

We are delighted to welcome Little Amal to Halifax, with her message of hope and solidarity for displaced people everywhere. Little Amal is the 12-foot puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee girl. Join us, and Little Amal as we come together in a show of friendship and community as she parades through Halifax’s streets. Part of Yorkshire Migration Festival.

Lightcliffe Tower Opening

Year of Culture Presents Anne Lister’s Candlelit Concert

A very special concert of Anne Lister’s music with a harpist, and a pianist playing a square piano –both playing music of Anne’s time, with references throughout to Anne and her music – all on the actual anniversary of Anne Lister’s death

Halifax Minster - the 900-year-old building that was such an important part of Anne Lister’s life and is where she was baptised, worshipped and is buried, will be open from 12-4pm for quiet reflection during the period. Check the Minster website to confirm opening times/for further detail.
Shibden Hall - Anne Lister’s former home, will be open daily. Mon-Fri 10am-5pm, Sat, Sun 11am-5pm. Check website to confirm opening times.
