Last week, the CultureDale team decorated our very own tree for the Halifax Minster Christmas Tree Festival!
Working with creative students at Calderdale College, who used a variety of craft materials to construct colourful and imaginative decorations for our CultureDale-inspired tree, we aimed to spread the message of Calderdale’s Year of Culture 2024 and give people a flavour of the creative projects we will be running and supporting throughout the year.
Below, you can see photos from the design session at Calderdale College, where students used primarily recyclable and upcycled sustainable materials to construct paper chains, baubles, stars and many more decorations.
We would like to give a massive thank you to the students that came and helped out, as well as design tech staff Kate Haigh and Lisa Gort, who very enthusiastically welcomed the idea.
The Halifax Minster Christmas Tree Festival took place from the 2nd – 5th December, we hope you had a chance to take a look at some of the fantastic trees and decorations on display there. Keep an eye out in the future for more CultureDale inspired designs throughout Calderdale!
