The Local Motive Public Meeting
Mytholmyroyd
March 22, 2025
TIME:
13:30 - 15:00

The Station Building in Mytholmroyd will finally open its doors for the community in 2025, after being shut for decades. After a successful bid to the Levelling Up Fund, we're commencing building works to turn the beautiful Grade II listed building into a community and arts centre. At the Public Meeting you'll hear about plans from the Trustee team behind it, hear from local speakers and have the opportunity to tell us what you'd like to see happening in this building. It is run by the community, for the community.

It's more than a meeting though: there'll be making and music too!

There will be a drop-in workshop activity from the brilliant, local boat-dwelling ceramicist Rosie Moon. This is suitable for adults and kids alike.  Rosie will be helping you make your own trains from blocks of clay with added surface detail, textures and underglaze. These will later be prepared for firing and glazed, for you to pick up at a later date. We'll also be making a tile set of a train, to be displayed later at the Station Building. You can add a portrait of you and your people in a train carriage, travelling forward together into our exciting future with this building!

So, come along to The Good Shepherd in Mytholmroyd (HX7 5EA) to have a fun afternoon and learn more about plans for the Station Building.
