Come along to our free exhibition launch and find out about some of the people who were buried around the library. Read about their lives, hear their stories and listen to a soundscape inspired by our volunteers’ research.

Central Library and Archives incorporates the remains of Square Church. Approximately 1400 people were buried in the graveyard, and when the library was built over 217 bodies were exhumed.  For the past few months a group of volunteers and library and archive staff have been researching the lives of some of these people.  

This will be a suitably spooky Halloween launch but we will be talking candidly about real peoples’ lives and deaths so parental discretion advised!
